Court approves Russia’s Aeroflot 5.3 bln rbl claim vs Transaero
MOSCOW, Apr 18 (PRIME) -- The Arbitration Court of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region has substantiated a 5.3 billion ruble debt claim of flagship carrier Aeroflot against troubled airline Transaero and included it into a list of creditors, a representative of the court told PRIME on Monday.
On March 3, the Ninth Arbitration Court of Appeals upheld a decision of the Moscow Arbitration Court to order Transaero to repay an about 5.3 billion ruble debt to Aeroflot.
Transaero has failed to service 250 billion rubles of debt. Its air operator certificate was recalled in late October 2015. The airline’s largest creditors – Sberbank, Alfa-Bank, and VTB Bank – as well as the Federal Tax Service and the airline itself earlier filed for bankruptcy to the court.
